Electronic data interchange, or EDI, is the exchange of data within ones company or with customers and partners via the Internet. Applications and data at remote sites can be linked over the Internet to a central site or can exchange information in a peer-to-peer relationship. Supply-chain integration is a facet of EDI, integrating purchasing and selling systems.
