A Time and Material model is used when the scope, specifications and the implementation plans of a software development project are difficult to define at the start of the project. In this model, the client pays as per use of the hourly software developmental efforts which makes this the most flexible of the three models.
Typically the software development project’s requirements tend to become clear and fall into place during the course of implementation which in turn specify the need for resources. In order to assist such development, this model offers the flexibility of varying the project team size, while optimizing the time and cost. The cost of development is billed at the end of every month based on time sheet and pre-negotiated hourly rate in this model.
Fixed Cost
This model is suited to customers with well defined requirements and project schedules. The customer pays a pre-negotiated fixed price for the complete project which in turn is linked to well defined deliverables.
The following steps are followed during the execution of this model:
Customer forwards the requirement definition to Omniscient.
Omniscient team studies the requirements and seeks clarifications, if any.
Based on finalized requirements, a detailed proposal is submitted to the customer along with time frame and cost estimate.
Upon acceptance of the proposal by the customer, Software Design Document (SDD) and Work Break-down Structure (WBS) based project plan incorporating clearly defined deliverables is prepared and submitted to the customer.
Simultaneously under a parallel activity, development and testing environments are set up and the rest of the project team is assembled.
The development, quality assurance and all other project related activities are competently managed, transparently communicated and seamlessly delivered.
On completion of the final deliverable, acceptance testing, deployment, user training and handover is carried out at the customer site.
During the field trials and after release, Omniscient continues to provide post-delivery services, as desired by the customer.
Our post-release corrective, adaptive and perfective maintenance services take care of the enhancements and bug fixes.
Dedicated Development Center
A Dedicated development center model is one in which the dedicated center acts as an extension of the customer’s Software development and IT facility, and is extremely popular among customers who are looking for long-term gains from offshore outsourcing. This model employs a pool of specialized, multi-disciplinary resources that are organized and managed by Omniscient to meet the customer's business intentions. At the dedicated center, we go to an extra mile to simulate processes for the customers’ benefit
Our dedicate center’s processes are seamlessly integrated with the customer’s existing processes so that that we fully support design, development, QA, version control, backup and recovery. Additionally, power back-ups, network & system security, security of IT and communication infrastructure and water tight IPR protection mechanisms of customer’s products, projects and technologies are taken care of. Within this model, the customer pays for pre-developed products, materials, process set-ups and all other resources deployed under a yearly contract. Billing of resources at the contracted rate and of other actual expenses (as approved by the customer), is done on a monthly basis.
